Wish we had this old type of country music today. I grew up on this type of country music & bluegrass, etc. (Merle Haggard,Johnny Cash, Lefty Frizzell, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, George Jones and so many other great legend and in bluegrass it was Bill Monroe, Osborne Brothers, Stanley Brothers and so many great legends) and waltz (so to speak) Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Just about all of the great legends are gone. Dolly Parton & Whispering Bill Anderson and a few others are still with us but not many. Country Music Industry has changed forever with this new stuff they call country. Like George Strait & Allen Jackson song "Murder on Music Row". Thats the Gods Truth to.

Haven't seen this in ages. In the early 90's Joy White and Kelly Willis were the real Country girls that never got any respect from Country Radio. Didn't matter how good their songs were. Can you imagine if Patty Loveless had recorded this or how about Pam Tillis or Lorrie Morgan? Are you kidding me? Loved Joy White, Loved Lari White and Kelly Willis. Those were 3 of my girls. Also Holly Dunn. Can't believe that Lari and Holly have both passed on now. Loved them both so much. All of them were vastly underrated and none of them received anywhere near the recognition that they justly deserved in their careers. On the men's side, Marty Brown and James House were two of my favorites who struggled for menial airplay. Both so talented. As far as I'm concerned all of their albums were good enough to have been Muliti-Platinum sellers. They just lacked exposure and the proper promotion.

I loved the duet that Joy did with Marty Brown "I Love Only You". Wish that had been a single and video.

Haven't seen this video in a very long time. When I first saw it on CMT I thought this would be a huge hit song. Practically nobody played it. Seemed unreal, because it could have been Big. I was a fan of Joy White, not as Big a fan as I was of the late great Lari White, but both got screwed over by the industry repeatedly and definitely never got the recognition they justly deserved. Joy was one of the artists much like Kelly Willis and to a little lesser extent Lari too, that wasn't considered Radio friendly enough? I never understood what the hell that meant? Personally, I thought it was a farce. Radio just didn't give them the proper respect and certainly neither did their lousy record labels either.

My brother passed away May 15th, 2024, after a three year battle with cancer. He was 60. He was cremated and his ashes was spread on top of his favorite mountain. This song was played there and at his memorial service. He loved it

I knew Alison's Dad Fred. He said she would go somewhere someday, he was right.

Vince Gill is a stellar talent of course, but if writing this song was the only thing he'd ever done, he'd still belong in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

RIP to my cousins David and Donald, both younger than myself, who are no longer with us. I know they both loved this song.
